Integration Developer

Principality is a mutual building society, owned by and run for the benefit of our 500,000 Members. As a business, we’ve been helping people across Wales and the borders to find homes and save towards what matters to them for 160 years. As our Members and customers needs and ambitions evolve, we’re transforming our business to keep pace and this takes people from a variety of backgrounds, with a combination of different skills and experience. People who can really support our business to be the best it can be and enable our colleagues to deliver the stand-out experience our Members and customers have come to expect. People, like you.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Solving business problems and delivering change as a member of one of our delivery teams in our end-to-end change model.
  • Taking high-level solution designs and creating low-level design documents, showing orchestration across our API network.
  • Collaborating with the test engineers within your team to ensure our APIs are built with the highest quality and meeting their requirements by creating unit tests.
  • Using a test driven development approach to implement the design of your APIs using Mulesoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Contributing to the integration community of practice. Sharing knowledge, building our standards and ways of working across teams and value streams.
  • Provide support to production services and fix any bugs identified.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • RESTful API design – RAML/OAS/Swagger
  • Web service development - Mulesoft/Java Spring Boot/ASP.NET Web API.
  • Operating within an agile framework – Scrum/Kanban/Lean.
  • Version control systems – Git/TFS

What we’ll upskill you in, if you don’t already have it:

  • Mermaid syntax for low-level integration documentation.
  • Mulesoft development using the Anypoint platform and studio.
  • Microservice Architecture.
  • Azure DevOps CI/CD.
  • Opportunities for cross-skilling in other areas of our tech stack!

………Plus anything else you need to be successful or to grow as a person!

Our tech stack:

  • Unisys AB Suite
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Mulesoft Integration APIs
  • Outsystems UI/UX

How we’ll reward your great work

Our colleagues are one of our greatest assets, so our reward offering is extremely important to us. Our package includes pension, bonus and incentive schemes, life assurance cover, critical illness protection, private healthcare and the option to buy extra holiday each year.

Colleagues can also enjoy discounts on theatre, sports and family events, and access to tickets for the latest events at Principality Stadium. Perhaps our most unique reward is the £100 we’ll give you to open a savings account at your local branch. That makes you a Member, with a stake in our business and voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.

We know that no two of our colleagues are the same, so we also offer a flexible benefits package, 'Principality Rewards', which allows colleagues to select the benefits that matter most to them. It's one of our ways of supporting our colleagues through every stage of their working life. And now there's more choice than ever before, with benefits ranging from dental insurance, to health screening to will writing and pension advice. There's even a travel account, which allows colleagues to book a holiday and pay the cost back monthly through salary deductions.

We’re a responsible business

Helping our members to prosper is central to our ethos. It's why our business is closely linked to the communities where we work. For us, improving financial education and understanding is a crucial role and one that we take seriously. So as well as raising thousands of pounds for nominated local and national charities each year, we run financial education programmes in schools to support grass-roots understanding and drive towards a more financially educated future.
