We're looking for an experienced Senior Reporting Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team on a 12 month secondment.

This is a key technical role where you'll lead on the interpretation and application of accounting standards, with a particular focus on IFRS 9 and hedge accounting. You'll play an important part in delivering our Annual Report, Half-Year Reporting and tax submissions, while providing expert support across the wider Finance function.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the preparation of Audit Committee papers such as the Accounting Judgements Paper.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for technical accounting areas such as IFRS 9 impairment provisioning and hedge accounting.
  • Oversee accounting processes across month-end, half-year and year-end reporting cycles and implement continuous improvements to these processes.
  • Support the delivery of Annual Reports, Half-Year Results and external audits.
  • Present technical accounting papers to the Society’s sub-Committees such as Model Governance Committee
  • Monitor and interpret new accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
  • Represent Principality at industry forums and benchmarking activities.
  • Support the preparation of Corporation Tax, VAT, FATCA and BBSI returns.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Risk and external partners.
  • Support the professional development of colleagues through coaching and knowledge sharing.

What you'll bring:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with several years post qualification experience.
  • Significant financial reporting experience within financial services or banking.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS 9.
  • Experience supporting year-end reporting and external audits.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
