We have an exciting opportunity for a Mortgage Consultant to join our lending team on a 12m FTC. Our mortgage consultants work closely with our customer and are at the heart of our business and provide a friendly and professional point of contact for new and existing mortgage customers.

As a Mortgage Consultants you will  work closely with our customer to answer any general mortgage enquiries, talk them through their rate-switches and new lending decisions in principle and make referrals for identified protection needs that meet the customer needs.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • To operate as part of a team, delivering outstanding service to all our customers in line with agreed service level agreements
  • Receiving and handling customer mortgage enquiries effectively (Inbound, Outbound & Written).
  • Identifying the correct service option for new lending, rate switches and/or mid-terms variations.
  • Offer support with an MA or facilitate the rate-switch or mid-term variation.
  • Identify new lending opportunities and complete decisions in principle for our customers
  • Make referrals for customer protection needs to appropriate partners.
  • Operate in line with the Society’s policy and procedure manuals and regulatory guidelines in order to ensure the right customer outcome.

Key skills required

  • Full CeMAP qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of our mortgage product offering and associated sales process
  • Experienced in using mortgage systems
  • Experienced in customer systems and databases
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in being able to identify and understand customer needs to achieve the right outcome.
  • Understanding / knowledge of the wider mortgage market
  • Experience of Financial Services Regulatory requirements

****Working hours for this role will include rotational Saturdays ****
