Senior Product Manager (12m FTC)

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Product Manager to join our Savings Product function on a 12-month secondment.

In this role, you will develop and manage a savings product portfolio that supports the Society’s strategic objectives and delivers against agreed OKR’s and business targets. You will ensure products are appropriately targeted, competitively priced, and managed within agreed parameters, while adhering to Consumer Duty and the organisation’s conduct and risk appetite.

You will also play a key role in developing and improving processes to increase efficiency and deliver better customer outcomes. In addition, you will support the Head of Savings Product in achieving their objectives by completing agreed tasks and deputising where required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own the development of and lead the execution of the product strategy over the short and long term.
  • To drive the commercial performance of our product lines in line with the growth strategy.
  • Act as a business lead where required on any change initiatives. This includes working with a range of senior stakeholders across the business leading the delivery of these projects.
  • To provide leadership and development to the team and support the Head of Savings Product as required in achievement of their objectives, by ensuring the smooth running of the team; performing specific agreed tasks, and deputising as required.
  • To keep abreast of market movements and respond accordingly, ensuring any deviations from the plan are quickly and effectively addressed and targets are met. Responsibility for both acquisition of new members and retention and management of any existing members ensuring we deliver to the needs of our target customers and accountable for managing all elements of product risk including regulatory, financial and credit risks.
  • Taking personal responsibility for ongoing development and staying up to date with Society, industry, and regulatory changes, understanding their impact on the product area
  • Owning Procedure Manuals, ensuring all electronic documentation is accurately indexed, version-controlled, and kept up to date

Skills required:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including functions and formulas such as logical, lookup & reference, statistical, and date & time)
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Experience producing reports and papers for a varied audience

Key Competencies:

  • Highly numerate with strong analytical capability
  • Commercially aware, with a solid understanding of the product development lifecycle
  • Good understanding of the financial services regulatory framework
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to influence and engage key stakeholders at senior management level
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
