Assistant Meeting & Events Sales Manager

We have a new opportunity for an enthusiastic and customer focused Assistant Meeting & Events Sales Manager to come and work alongside our Meeting & Events Sales Manager here at the Runnymede on Thames.

Our bright and modern hotel boasts an enticing riverside restaurant, our outside River Hideout eatery, a buzzing lounge, and large conference centre with 180 bedrooms alongside an award winning spa that puts the treat in treatments, indoor & outdoor pool, a fully equipped gym and an array of outdoor activities from archery to tennis. 

Excellently located just off the M25 and near Egham train station, we have a wonderful buzz, yet step outside and you’ll find peace and tranquillity directly on the banks of the River Thames.

As the Assistant Meeting & Events Sales Manager some of the key aspects of the role are:

  • To work with the Meetings & Events Sales Manager / General Manager / Direct Sales Team in a commercial manner to ‘drive’ business into the Meetings & Events diary; to maximise revenue opportunities for the hotel
  • To build relationships with key buyers to encourage their loyalty to the Runnymede on Thames i.e. Conference Agents/Direct Bookers to make us their premier choice.
  • To help recruit, motivate, train and lead the Meetings & Events Sales Team to carry out their role effectively.
  • To build and maintain good operational links with all key stakeholders.
  • To deputise for Meetings & Events Sales Manager and attend all relevant meetings as required in their absence eg Forecast / Leadership Meetings / Sales Meetings.
  • To hold team revenue meetings and regular communication meetings. To undertake duty management shifts.

Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Meeting & Events environment, the ability to lead a team and deputise in the absence of the Meeting & Events Sales Manager.

A flexible approach is required as this role will involve you working outside midweek office hours on occasion to ensure a smooth and seamless customer journey for our clientele and support the management team.
