From woodlands and wetlands to fruit trees and flowers, the Gardens and Estate at The Grove is a real paradise for any lover of the outdoors.
The team who look after the Gardens are looking for an Gardener to help them with all aspects of gardening - mowing, strimming, weeding, mulching, tidying, planting, potting, raking, digging, hedging and litter picking to name a few!
Whether it’s the beauty of the roses in the formal gardens or growing vegetables in the Walled Garden which go on to feature on the menus in our restaurants there really is variety in this role
For this role, you will need to demonstrate plant knowledge, a keen interest in gardens and landscapes, familiarity with most gardening practices together with the use and maintenance of machinery eg. mowers and strimmers.
Practical experience and/or Entry Level Qualification in gardens and/or landscape management. NVQ level 1or 2, RHS level 1 or 2 is a must and a full valid driving license is also required.
Our ideal candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills, good organisational skills and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of Health and Safety issues. A willingness to work alongside and to support other staff is essential, as is an eye for detail and a desire to achieve a high standards, ability to work on own initiative.
It goes without saying that you will be working outdoors (in all weathers!) and you will need to be able to start early as the team begin their day at around 7:30am and cover weekend duties on a rota basis.
