WHAT YOU DO MATTERS…

We are one of the UK’s leading Fast Fashion, high street retailers. Working in the lively environment of Design and Buying, our Garment Technologists work closely with the Buyers and Designers of various departments developing product from the initial design concept through to production.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Technologist to manage our Menswear Team – reporting to the Head of Technical.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the Menswear technical function (Garments), working closely with the buying and design teams and supporting the Brand strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with the River Island Technical Team in achieving consistency in all aspects affecting the team / function across the Brand
  • Manage a team of technologists and a fit model.
  • Drive consistency in fit and quality through product development / approval processes
  • Manage the achievement of performance / testing requirements
  • Plan workloads
  • Develop and manage suppliers to deliver to our standards
  • Maintain a knowledge of changes in legislation – including global changes / requirements
  • Focus on continuous improvement through the ongoing analysis of returns and customer feedback, competitor awareness and industry feedback.
  • Support the ethical and sourcing team

  • Excellent Menswear fitting skills with experience in a relevant retail or supplier environment

  • Strong construction and pattern cutting knowledge
  • Be able to work and deliver in a fast-paced environment, accurately and with attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of safety and Legal requirements
  • Experience in managing test reports/ fabric performance
  • Experience in working with overseas suppliers and factories
  • Strong IT skills,
