WHAT YOU DO MATTERS…       

This is a critical role covering River Island Digital Channels and Marketing departments, with high commercial focus on driving profitable growth by investing in technology, finding efficiencies from digital channels, or producing maximum value from marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Delivering clarity and consistency to commercial decision making, review and challenge existing processes and procedures. Build relationships to influence digital strategy and operation through analysis and challenge, identifying opportunities to reduce cost base.

Undertaking and providing accurate reporting and influential analysis to support and evaluate business cases for investment opportunities.

Assist with the annual budget, quarterly forecast processes and monthly commercial reporting within Digital and Marketing while challenging assumptions, variances, and suggesting areas for efficiencies and opportunities.

Ownership of key reporting and analysis models – streamlining and ensuring fit for purpose.  Line manage, engage and develop 1 direct report.

The Team

The Commercial Finance team is part of a wider Finance department headed up by the Financial Director who reports in the Chief Operating Officer.  As a Finance Business Partner, you will be working as part of a dedicated finance team consisting of Accountants, Business Partners and Analysts.

Perfect for someone who is incredibly switched on and articulate, with impeccable communication skills. A person who provides a high-quality of work, with a proactive attitude.  Ability to shape and mould the position and grow with the business. Used to working in a large matrix environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Commercial experience in FMCG/Retail preferred but not essential
  • Excellent organisational and communicational skills.
  • Ability to challenge at all levels in a agile, fast paced environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess strong analytical skills and can demonstrate the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in the retail services industry desired
  • Accountancy Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
