Server Support Team Lead

You will be responsible for managing the River Island server team. You will be accountable for day to day management and performance of the server support team to meet OLA’s and SLA’s. You will also work with partners to implement solutions for existing and new core infrastructure, manage and report progress and escalate issues and risks effectively to senior management, owning issues through to resolution. You will also be involved in assisting with creation of technical design and implementation documentation, and participating in current state system analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation.

What will you do as a Server Support Team Lead?

  • Manage and mentor the Server Support team to ensure exceptional levels of service are maintained
  • Plan and organise resource allocation between BAU incidents, project requirements and Infrastructure improvements
  • Provide hands on support for incidents where required to support team workload
  • Proactively monitor and fix the River Island network estate
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure issues
  • Support systems management tools
  • Support Cloud hosted Infrastructure within HP VPC and AWS instances
  • Assist with configuration and implementation deployments including project works
  • Take part in out of hour’s callout rotas as required to meet business needs
  • Work with project teams to ensure successful realisation of deliverables

Experience Required:

  • Team Leader and / or Team Management experience
  • Solid technical background across:
    • Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2012
    • VMWare and / or Hypervisor platforms
    • Active Directory
    • Storage management, design and support
    • Working knowledge of SharePoint & Office 365
  • Relevant technical qualifications (MCSE, CCNA, VMWare)
  • Internet and email requirements definition, design and delivery expertise
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Application infrastructure and standards
  • Experience of Microsoft Exchange Server (2010 onwards)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical issues into understandable business language
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Desirable Experience:

  • ITIL Service Management Experience
  • MS SQL / Oracle administration understanding and capability
  • Experience of supporting Windows Server 2000
  • Experience supporting Linux server systems
  • PCI and other regulatory compliance knowledge
  • WEB filtering and Proxy technologies
  • Databases (i.e. IMS, DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MS Access, etc.).
  • Middleware technologies
