WHAT YOU DO MATTERS…

Great new opportunity to join our application and operational support team, providing support to River Island’s production systems. You will be accountable for:

  • Support innovation whilst maintaining positive focus on delivery to time and quality expectations
  • Work with partners to design solutions and control their delivery holding them accountable through formal and informal controls
  • Maintain compliance with internal ITIL aligned service management practices
  • Manage assigned specific areas of responsibility to achieve service levels

What will you do as an Application & Operational Support Analyst?

  • Proactively monitor and fix the River Island core production estate
  • Troubleshoot and resolve core production issues
  • Support core production management tools
  • Assist with configuration and implementation deployments including project works
  • Take part in out of hour’s callout rotas as required to meet business needs
  • Work with project teams to ensure successful realisation of deliverables
  • Understand and articulate the platform product roadmap
  • Manage and report progress and escalate issues and risks effectively to senior management, owning issues through to resolution
  • Contribute to company wide Application security and disaster recovery standards and policy

WE KNOW WHAT WE’RE DOING… and we know exactly what experience we’re looking for!

Essential:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows shell scripting e.g. bash, posix, korn shell, awk etc
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows utilities
  • Demonstrable knowledge of file transfer software and configuration including sftp,scp, ftp
  • UC4 Scheduling toolset
  • Oracle ERP package
  • Experience of cloud infrastructure supplier and technology management
  • Demonstrable experience in networking fundamentals
  • Demonstrable experience in managing application standards
  • Demonstrable knowledge of PCI and other regulatory compliance
  • Ability to translate technical issues into understandable business language for end users.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting retail focused applications
  • ITIL Service Management Experience
  • Working knowledge of Office 365
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of middleware technologies
  • Experience of managing Active Directory
  • Experience of managing Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2012 platforms
  • Experience of managing VMWare and / or Hypervisor platforms
