WHAT YOU DO MATTERS…

We are currently looking for a Staff Shop Assistant to join our busy fast paced facilities team. Your responsibilities will be to ensure the effective operations of Staff Shop in accordance with RI operating standards, policies and procedures. To identify areas of business improvement and support the Facilities Management Team in incorporating improvements into RI Staff Shop operating standards, policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collect all stock bags from the building floor
  • Replenish the store stock accurately and in accordance with stock demand
  • Fully understand cashless procedure and operation of Staff Shop till
  • Help drives sales by influencing stock holding and setting up promotional events
  • Ensure product is in the right place at the right time
  • Take pride in Staff Shop appearance and embrace River Island store look
  • Endlessly develop product knowledge and understanding of customers needs
  • Be aware of your personal responsibilities in regard to health & safety
  • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and dealt with immediately.
  • Ensure that faulty / damaged equipment is not used and is reported and dealt with immediately
  • Ask for further guidance / training on any health & safety issues you feel further support is required
  • Attend regular meetings with the Line Managers and provide feedback on operational performance at these meetings
  • Other duties may be specified from time to time.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy external and internal Staff Shop storage areas

Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous facilities experience within a busy environment
  • Previous Receptionist experience would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of key PC skills specifically in relation to Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability manage relationships with visitors and internal staff
  • Ability to manage own workload, plan and prioritise work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A professional approach at all times adopting a flexible approach to changing requirements, adapting style to suit different situations and people
  • Excellent problem solving skills, remaining calm in demanding situations
  • Works collaboratively with the team, sharing information to contribute to the team objectives

  • Maintain a good working relationship within the facilities department and with all other departments within the organisation.
