WHAT YOU DO MATTERS…

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the e-commerce team at River Island as a Senior Digital Analyst. You will champion the reporting function for all web analytics data, identify and drive insights into our digital channels performance and support the optimisation across web and app. You will partner with our product and technology teams, delivering actionable behavioural insights to deliver material improvements to business performance through fast and effective change. 

In this role you will:       

  • Have responsibility and ownership for delivery and enhancement of regular website performance reports and producing meaningful insights from across various data sources
  • Work closely with marketing, merchandising, insights and tech teams to understand business goals and ensure data driven strategic focus on the digital optimisation roadmap
  • Provide deep and extensive analysis and insights ranging from daily trading to more long term strategic initiatives and industry benchmarking. Sharing and presenting findings with wider teams of all levels
  • Understand the digital customer journey at every touchpoint and help driving sales performance and KPIs. Identify barriers and fall-outs in the journeys, suggest recommendations for improving performance and spot conversion growth opportunities
  • Have responsibility for the correct implementation for the tracking and tagging strategy of web analytics tools
  • Work with Digital Optimisation and Analytics Manager to analyse performance of A/B and multi-variant tests, help forecasting and prioritising developments
  • Manage online analyst and supporting other members of the team in web analytics use
  • Act as subject matter expert for requests from the leadership team on analytics related to strategy, become a key stake holder within business for all CRO related activities
  • Represent business team in meetings and ensure perspectives of broader Analytics team 
  • Influence product development strategy by influencing a test & learn culture. Developing analytical framework, tools, and processes to evaluate benefits of strategic initiatives and prioritise based on impact and return 

WE KNOW WHAT WE’RE DOING… and we know exactly what experience we’re looking for!

Experience, Skills & Abilities:   

  • Passionate about data with in-depth knowledge and strong (8 years+) experience in using web analytics tools (preferably Adobe Analytics)
  • Strategic marketing and retail ecommerce experience – preferably within fashion industry
  • Experience with A/B MVT and conversion rate optimisation
  • Previous experience in web analytics implementation (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent Excel skills; knowledge of SQL databases is an advantage
  • Ability to turn data into insightful reports and present findings to wider business stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present the business value of analysis concisely, contextually and clearly. 
  • Experience of bringing together multiple data sources into insight and reporting
  • Excellent logical thinking, a very strong background in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, or data science or similar, and a scientific approach to problem-solving (i.e. ability to ask the right questions and design appropriate analyses to answer them)
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure, dynamic environment
  • High energy and a can-do attitude
  • Curiosity and passion for making an impact along with strong attention to detail
