WHAT YOU DO MATTERS…

Reporting to the SEO Manager, the SEO executive is responsible for supporting the execution of River Islands SEO strategy on and off site across multiple markets. You will take responsibility for nominated category (Womenswear, Menswear etc), and work with almost everyone to drive as much traffic to those departments as possible.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management and optimisation of UK and International backlink profiles (offsite SEO), ensuring actions are taken to fix any issues
  • Management and optimisation of UK and International onsite optimisation for nominated departments
  • Educating social, content and PR teams about the role of SEO in their work
  • Management of external agencies as required to deliver high quality results
  • Assisting the SEO manager with overarching SEO strategy
  • Day to day monitoring of competitor and authoritative influencers’ activity, ensuring relevant insights are communicated to key stakeholders
  • Day to day monitoring of competitor performance and rankings, ensuring relevant insights are communicated to key stakeholders
  • Carry out detailed KW research and ensure KW calendars are kept up to date and communicated to eCommerce + Marketing teams so that consumer search trends are monitored and capitalised upon at the right time
  • Assist the SEO Manager to ensure technical requirements are scoped and worked through with the IT team
  • Keep up to date with industry developments + attend relevant conferences ensuring that best practice and new innovations are communicated to wider eCommerce, PR and marketing teams

WE KNOW WHAT WE’RE DOING… and we know exactly what experience we’re looking for!

  • 2 years minimum SEO experience. Preferably in a retail environment
  • International experience esp US a bonus
  • Good working knowledge of SEO tools (Brightedge, Botify and similar)
  • Experience performing routine SEO tasks including keyword research, meta data recommendations & content development
  • Auditing websites from an SEO perspective, using your experience and leading tools, and providing optimization recommendations
  • Understanding of technical SEO
  • Understanding of how SEO integrates with PPC or experience running integrated SEO and PPC campaigns
  • Thorough understand of the PR process
  • Strong organisational and time-keeping skills.
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong research and analysis skills.
  • Ability to create innovative out of the box ideas and challenge the status quo
  • Experience of search & social tools
  • Excellent project management and delegation skills
  • Up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, innovations and opportunities within the fashion marketing space.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulae and conditional formatting
