DevOps Engineer

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join our Technology team at the Royal Pharmaceutical society (RPS).  At RPS we are passionate about delivering high-quality products and outstanding digital experiences to our customers. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of Pharmaceutical Press’ publishing software, systems and customer-facing digital products. You will have the chance to lead the way for our DevOps environment, working with the Lead Developer and Technical Architect to bring best practices.

DevOps Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python etc.)
  • Practical experience with Docker containerization and clustering (ECS).
  • Expertise with AWS (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling groups, Lambda)
  • Version control system experience (e.g. Git)
  • Experience implementing CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, Codepipeline)
  • Operational (e.g. HA/Backups) NoSQL experience (e.g. Redis).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation).
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work, and work to deadlines.
  • Good communication, negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear explanations and technical guidance to non-technical personnel.
