HR Advisor - Basingstoke Depot

10 Month Fixed Term Contract (mat cover)

In a nutshell

Supports the delivery of the site people plan by providing accurate, timely and meaningful administration support to the depot including policy advice to line managers. Uses a variety of systems and processes to input, produce and maintain accurate information. Liaises with depot colleagues and line managers providing information and responding to queries in a professional and efficient manner which is compliant with data governance rules.

What I need to do

    • Keep HR knowledge up to date by using the internet, reading and developing a network of contacts.
    • Understand all the terms and conditions, appropriate to site and can advise managers on how to apply them
    • Use HR systems data to drill down into issues and provide the senior leadership team with the data they need.
    • Deliver accurate colleague pay by conducting the end to end processes of payroll administration including; uploads, daily, weekly checks and holiday and absence checking.
    • Operate in accordance with, and provides advice to others relating to, the logistics operating model, corporate / divisional / site policies and agreements.
    • Input in to and use relevant systems, producing reports as required
    • Support line managers with formal meetings by either note taking or acting in an advisory capacity.
    • Liaise with the HR Manager and HR Officer as well as internal and external functions to achieve results e.g. OHA, HRS
    • Produce HR data to inform decisions.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of relevant employment legislation and works within corporate guidance e.g. Right to Work.
    • Maintain accurate administration, filing and printing routines
    • Treat all colleagues in a courteous and helpful manner at all times recognising their diverse needs.
    • Follow up queries, giving timely and accurate responses to the line.
    • Ensure that HR systems are maintained accurately and build a good working relationship with HRS.
    • Support the delivery of training to line managers on people policies and procedure e.g. Attendance Management
    • Deliver work in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Complete pieces of work that feed into larger change projects.

    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • How to generate ideas regarding improvements and make recommendations.
