In a nutshell

To provide comprehensive administrative and creative support to the Design team in the creation and development of successful product ranges, ensuring that tasks are completed to company timescales and critical path to drive overall performance in the business unit.

What I need to do

  • Support and input into team objective to build a commercial, customer focused range through competitor bench marking and trend direction.
  • With guidance and support from Designer, design commercial, competitive, quality and functional aspects of the product using creativity and effective translation of customer needs into deliverable product attributes in line with relevant legislation and Sainsbury’s policies.
  • General design administration and creative support for Design team
  • Accountable for adherence to the design agreed critical path.
  • Support sample management as for both bought samples and supplier development, liaising with suppliers to chase samples and key information
  • Prepare for, attend, and take notes at appropriate meetings.
  • Conduct competitor shop reports and update on key trends, Catwalk, Trade shows and feedback to team.
  • Be instrumental in increasing departmental awareness on key trends
  • Creative input – have an eye for colour and trend with an ability to input to the creation of themes, trends and colour palettes
  • Awareness of the strategic direction for the design department
  • Assisting designers in formulating concept, colour and trend boards for presentations and meetings
  • Complete Design Specification sheets and product packs to assist designers to required pack standards.
  • Uploading all Design specs to relevant suppliers in line with the critical path
  • Responsible for maintenance of the Tu Colour System to load and create unique colour palettes online for suppliers to generate.
  • Responsible for upkeep of design/artwork files adhering to the system hierarchy
  • Responsible for maintenance and update of colour/theme/trend and bay boards for relevant meetings
  • Liaising with Graphic and Print designers on a regular basis
  • Visit stores and assist in launches where appropriate
  • Adhere to legal requirement and compliance - ensure trained to understand my obligations under competition law and ethical training

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational ability
