Buyers Admin Assistant - Cards & Wrap

In a nutshell

To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Buying team, ensuring that tasks are undertaken accurately and to company timescales to drive overall performance in the business unit.

What I need to do

  • Assist and support the buying teams to deliver departmental and business strategies
  • Through knowledge and understanding of product lifecycle and buying process
  • Understand pricing structure and supports decisions by providing accurate data from competitive shops
  • Demonstrate a passion for product and market trends
  • To create category SKUs and maintain data integrity in line with company targets, using relevant IT systems
  • To adhere to buying milestones within the critical path to ensure on time launches. Managing supplier critical paths and feeding back as appropriate to team.
  • Liaise with suppliers to chase samples, lab dip submissions and key information.
  • Takes responsibility for day to day management of all department samples
  • To ensure that Promotional and Packaging administration is completed efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure quality standards are met by providing support to buyer during pre-production and fit meetings
  • To provide great customer service to store colleagues through speedy and accurate issue resolution.
  • To carry out the accurate filing and maintenance of all required records in line with company procedures and legal guidelines, on behalf of the category.
  • Prepare for, attend, and take notes at meetings, deputising for assistant/junior buyer when necessary.
  • Maximises learning opportunities to broaden knowledge of the Buying team’s responsibilities in order to support with queries from the wider team.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of product costing
  • To confirm product detail and administration post sign off to suppliers in line with the critical path
  • Ensure team activity is legal and compliant, and ensure trained to understand my obligations under competition law and ethical training
