Data and Analytics Delivery Analyst

In a nutshell

Sainsbury’s is a data rich business – with information collected from consumers, suppliers and colleagues.  We believe that there is huge value in these data in driving value for our customers and, in turn, value for our shareholders.

To-date, there has been some great work done which has started to realise some of this value, but there is significantly more opportunity bought about by developing the right information solutions to help solve often complex business challenges.

The Delivery Analyst will sustain key business relationships whch will further grow the level of understanding and demand for DACE support. They will also be responsible for the delivery of solutions from across the full spectrum of DACE capabilities to drive customer, colleague or competitive advantage for the business.

The Delivery Analyst has three key responsibilities:

1. Partnering - Acting as an interface between The Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence (DACE) and agreed business stakeholders. Engaging and influencing stakeholders across the business so they understand the art of the possible from a data and analytics perspectiv

2. Delivery - Accountable for ensuring that all data & analytics outputs for their projects are successfully developed and deployed in the business

3. Benefits – Drive maximum business value from delivery, and responsible for capturing and measuring the benefit derived from these outputs

What I need to do

Partnering/ Strategy

  • Grow and maintain strong business relationships with defined business stakeholders and act as point of contact for delivery
  • Engage with the business around the ‘art of the possible’ from a data and analytics perspective

Delivery

  • Lead DACE cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, to budget and scope.
  • Work with PM’s and DACE teams to ensure delivery meets the business needs
  • Responsible for all IB and CAG papers for your projects
  • Work with D&T to understand their delivery plans and ensure clarity and consistency for the business in your project delivery
  • Coach and support members of the delivery team

Benefit Realisation

  • Work with the business, finance and project teams to identify and maximise the benefits realised
  • Work closely with central and BU finance teams to agree an approach to measure, track, embed  and report benefits

How I will succeed

  • Be able to distil business requirements into simple deliverables
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships
  • Recognised as the go-to DACE contact for your projects
  • Successful delivery of activites/projects to time, budget and scope
  • Delivery of high-quality DACE solutions in-line with business expectations and benefit commitments
  • Work collaboratively with the other DACE teams to develop appropriate solutions

What I need to know

  • An understanding of the ‘art of the possible’ from a data and analytics perspective
  • An understanding of the tools and technologies, processes and procedures that bring data ‘to life’
  • A history of successfully delivering projects and an understanding of both Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies
  • How to run projects to deliver measured outcomes
  • How to turn business speak into data & analytics speak and visa versa
  • A good understanding of the retail world
