Buying Manager - Papershop

Within Sainsbury’s Papershop, we want to get everyone’s creativity going. Whether that’s offering the props to make the perfect party atmosphere or delivering stationery to help transform ideas into brilliant plans, for us it’s not just about providing tools to do the job, we want our ranges to entice and excite as well.

That’s where you come in. We need a product focused commercial Buying Manager to lead our Papershop team. As one of the biggest categories within the business, the team work alongside our design team and suppliers to build party table wear fit for any celebration and a stationery collection even the earnest of techno-enthusiasts won’t be able to resist. You’ll have a commercial edge but overall a real passion for product.

You’ll be leading the sourcing and selection strategy across Stationery and Paper Tablewear and Party, ensuring the team are able to effectively negotiate, manage suppliers and identify the most cost effective sourcing routes. You’ll also be looking after our future buying talent, with a team of dedicated buyers, junior buyers and admin assistants who will be looking to you for leadership support, so you’ll need to be a strong leader who can ensure stability and support for the team.

Your background will preferably be in non-food omni-channel buying and you’ll have experience of managing large teams (circa 12 people). You'll also be robust at building strong relationships both internally and externally, especially with our merchandising, design and technical teams.

This is an exciting time to join Sainsbury's as we expand our own-brand ranges within the category. You'll really be able to shape the category, as well as exploring opportunities within our merger with Argos.
