Business Partner - Supermarkets

You will partner the Fresh trading categories embedding analytical, strategic and range change expertise to deliver ranges incremental, distinct, relevant ranges that are easy to shop

Analysis, Change and Strategy Development

  • Innovate ranging analytics, including our Ranging Tools, to develop capability and embed strategic goals to maximise value

  • Understand the market, consumer and technology trends across channels to future proof our approach

  • Use internal and external data and category plans to prioritise cross category ranging activity

  • Develop the cross category ranging strategy through data and analytics

  • Evolve our end to end cross functional ranging process in line with business requirements 

Business Partnering and Category Support

  • Become the “go to” ranging analytical support for fresh food categories by building great relationships
  • Embed our ranging strategy using the end to end ranging process and tools, including objective setting, running cross category analytical workshops, and post investment reviews
  • Support training and development for Category ranging teams
  • Act as an impartial point of escalation between categories
  • Represent Supermarket ranging in major cross-business projects

Communications and Governance

  • Be the point of communication between the central ranging team and category range planners/analysts
  • Deliver insight to key governance forums (inc. Food Commercial Leadership Team & Categories)
  • Support categories to deliver a positive balanced scorecard relating to customer choice, financial performance and operational compliance
  • Ensure every range review has clear objectives and post-implementation reviews, with relevant learning’s fed back into analytics and change process
  • Understand the principles of incremental analytics to maximise value
  • Strong network of cross-functional contacts – evidenced by 360 feedback
  • Being flexible and reacting to internal and external events and requirements
