Accounts Payable and Supplier Management Manager

As an AP Manager for Sainsbury’s, you’ll be managing a team of 11 through our supplier payment process to ensure an efficient service for all of our suppliers. You’ll ensure that controls and risks are mitigated, as well providing ad-hoc budgets, reports or analysis to the wider business.

Through the effective management of your team, you’ll ensure that payments across our thousands of suppliers are accurate and timely each month, as well as managing the AP and Cashbooks balance sheet reconciliation process. You’ll keep tight controls on our new supplier set up, and make sure that periodic KPIs are accurately updated, all while highlighting any key achievements in the department and recognising any risks. You’ll build strong relationships with key suppliers and colleagues across the business including Treasury, Group Finance, and Procurement.

You’ll need to be an effective team manager with experience of Accounts Payable or transactional finance. You’ll ideally be a fully qualified accountant in ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. Of course you’ll have strong Excel skills, and it would be a bonus if you have used Oracle Financials. You’ll be an excellent communicator to all levels of seniority, and you’ll really be able to see the bigger picture of how leading our colleagues to be the best they can be, will enhance the experience of our suppliers and customers.
