Location: Oaklea Convent, Sunderland

Hours: 0 hour contract however you will be guaranteed 8.5 hours per week including evenings and weekends. Daytime duties may be required to cover sickness, holidays and special events. 

Hourly Rate: £12.60 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Cook to join our team at Oaklea Convent on a bank basis, providing high-quality meals for the Sisters and their visitors.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who takes pride in preparing nutritious, varied, and well-presented food in a warm and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals to a consistently high standard.
  • Ensure meals are nutritious, balanced, and tailored to dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to support hospitality for visitors.
  • Manage food stock and place orders as needed.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a similar cooking role.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Respectful and considerate of the values and routines of the Sisters.
