We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Service Manager to join Saint Paul’s Nursing Home in Birmingham.  Saint Paul’s is situated in the Selly Park area of Birmingham and is registered for 24 older female members of the Sisters of Charity of St Paul the Apostle which is managed by SJOG Hospitaller Services. 

The Deputy Service Manager will support the Service Manager with the day to day management and the leadership of the team, who specialise in providing exceptional standards of nursing and care, to elderly members of the Sisters of the Charity of St Paul the Apostle community.   The successful candidate will also be the clinical lead and will ensure the effective performance management of the team.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and who has a passion to deliver quality care for the members of the religious community within their own home. 

In addition, the role also entails working alongside with a team of Nurses and Care Assistants.

Essential Criteria: 

  • An ability to demonstrate the core values of the Charity
  • Registered Nurse qualification (1st level)
  • Working knowledge of CQC standards
  • A recognised management qualification, or willing to attain within a set timeframe
  • Supervisory / management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, Sisters and members of the religious community
  • Good organisational / leadership skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, across seven days of the week, including bank holidays. Participation in on call, sleep-ins when required
