Somerset Passenger Solutions was formed to serve the passenger transport needs of the largest construction project in Europe – Hinkley Point C. We transport thousands of clients to and from the site every day, working 24/7 to ensure that construction remains on schedule. Based at HPC and reporting to the Duty Manager/Lead Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of a safe, punctual, reliable and customer focused service by making use of available technology to manage the flow of drivers and services from departure points and along routes. You will proactively engage with our customers and colleagues to ensure customer needs and expectations are always met and surpassed where possible.
Summary of key tasks:
- Championing behavioural safety and having positive safety conversations with colleagues to drive change whilst challenging unacceptable behaviours
- Identifying and resolving daily operational issues including scheduling and allocation, vehicle issues and driver queries
- Escalating key concerns which cannot be resolved immediately to your line manager whilst providing proactive suggestions for resolutions in a timely manner
- Supervising the North Plaza bus stand and Internal stops and secure gate areas, utilising the tracking software. Proactively engaging with customers, managing queues and ensuring social distancing is adhered to (where required)
- Supervising all activities within SPS locations and HPC locations
- Completing the correct processes after an incident occurs in a timely and accurate manner
- Working with all colleagues to embed and champion our SPS Vision, Mission and Values whilst taking every opportunity to demonstrate them
- Completing an accurate and concise record of passenger numbers upon arrival. Allocation and departure of buses to the bus stand area, ensuring they are submitted to the Lead Supervisor at the end of the shift
- Ensuring all relevant and notable information is documented and communicated to the Lead Supervisor at the end of each shift
- Adhering to all Somerset Passenger Solutions policies and procedures at all times.
- Undertaking any reasonable request made by the Company which is commensurate with my role.
- Championing the Colleague Survey and supporting Managers to deliver actions from Colleague Survey plans.
- Ensure accurate allocation of duties abiding by driving hours rules and regulation.
- Actively engaging with both supervisor and driver colleagues through active listening and effective communication and providing appropriate support
Summary of essential skills / experience required:
Essential:
- Good understanding of IT
- Supervisory experience
- A flexible approach to working hours as we are a 24/7 business.
Desirable:
- Experienced in delivering a high level of customer service and dealing with complaints
- Management experience
Qualifications / knowledge required:
Essential:
- Driving Licence
- IOSH Working Safely (Training provided)
- Banks Person Trained (Training provided)
Desirable:
- Influencer Training (Training provided)
- L3 Team Leader qualification
- PCV/CPC Licence Holder
- First Aid Trained
- CSCS/CCNSG (Training Provided)
- Level 3 Health & Safety Supervisory Course (Training provided)
- Knowledge of the transport sector.
