Transport Duty Manager
Somerset Passenger Solutions provides the passenger transport needs for one of the largest construction projects in Europe – Hinkley Point C. We transport thousands of workers to and from the site 24/7.
We’re looking for a confident, decisive Transport Duty Manager to lead from the front in a dynamic and unique operation. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same — overseeing daily service delivery, ensuring compliance, and keeping our fleet and drivers running safely and efficiently.

Location: Bridgwater
Salary: £44,500 - £49,500 pa (depending on experience)
Hours: 4 on 4 off (average 42hrs pw) 0400-1630hrs

Sample of key duties & responsibilities:
• Managing, co-ordinating and resolving any operational issues which may arise across sites whilst liaising with HPC site staff, Operations team and other site staff.
• Holding a full start of shift brief with the team, ensuring all required tasks are allocated, all positions are covered, and key information has been communicated and understood.
• Holding a full handover meeting between shifts and completing a full and accurate handover report, communicating service performance and any issues which require escalation at handover to the next shift or operational meetings.
• Line managing and engaging Lead Supervisors and Supervisors.
• Ensuring there is adequate vehicle and driver resource available to cover required duties whilst complying with driver hours regulations and vehicles are allocated correctly for capacity and safety reasons.
• Competently managing operational systems such as Webfleet, Moovemanager and Utrack for the effective service delivery standards and to use the outputs from these systems to support the safety culture of our business, engaging with drivers and also to work toward excellence as the norm.
• Implementing actions to ensure and improve daily KPI performance.
Essential requirements for the role:
• 2 yrs + experience of working within transport operations
• 2 yrs + team/staff management experience
• Knowledge of domestic and EU driving regulations
• Driving licence
• Health & Safety qualification or related experience
• Proven ability to work well within a team
Desirable:
• PCV Licence
• Hold, or be able to obtain an OCR certificate of professional competence in transport operations or equivalent
