We are seeking a Senior Family Support Worker to join our team as part of service offer in  the Family Centre service within Spurgeons Children Charity, supporting families & children 0-11 years across Elmbridge.

At Spurgeons we pride ourselves on the various and outstanding services we offer, supporting children and their families in the local communities.  We are now looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual committed to supporting the welfare and safeguarding of children.

The successful candidate will work as part of our senior leadership team. This role is to co-manage the Family Support Workers in our team so that they can support our families to reach their full potential. Applicants must hold at least a Level 3 qualification in the relevant sector although a qualification to degree level is desirable.  You will need to demonstrate that you can provide effective management, support and guidance to the team with a mix of experienced strong Family Support Workers and new workers in the team. The successful candidate will hold a minimal caseload when allocations are high.

Duties include:

  • Working with internal and external colleagues to develop and co-ordinate support plans.
  • To work with EHA processes as required.
  • Ensure that the policies, procedures and practice for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children are implemented effectively
  • Overseeing case management, including reporting and recording and liaising with other agencies, colleagues and line managers where appropriate.
  • Identifying innovative ways for the team to engage with families.

As an ideal candidate you will be:

  • A great communicator and able to support the team
  • Always focused on delivering positive outcomes
  • Able to manage your own and the teams deadlines
  • Have a qualification in the relevant field.
  • Have daily access to your own vehicle to attend our 3 sites, Walton on Thames, Molesey and Cobham in Elmbridge, Surrey.
