About the Role
A fantastic opportunity to join a Mental Health, Therapeutic Service for St Christopher’s in partnership with Manx Care. The Wraparound Service is aimed primarily at providing mental health support and therapeutic interventions to children, families and carers.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person with proven experience of working with family dynamics and experience with safeguarding and managing risk. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team undertaking a range of assessments and interventions.
The primary functions will be:
- To assess, plan and provide direct therapeutic support to children and young people from 2 to 21 years old to support and improve their mental health and well being.
- To support children and young people with attachment injuries and developmental trauma.
- To take a systemic approach with the child’s system, by offering support to the families and carers. While also liaising with and supporting the professional network and co-ordinate therapeutic plans.
- To offer consultancy and psycho-educate carers and families around child’s presentations.
We are looking for a full time position of 40 hours. Hours of working will include planned out of office hours, evenings and weekends.
About You
Applicants will need to be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline family therapy, counselling / psychotherapy, play therapy, social work. Hold a recognised registration with an appropriate professional body (AFT, BACP, UKCP etc). You will need a minimum of one year’s experience of working directly with children and families.
