St Christopher's is an established children’s charity that has provided care for vulnerable children and young people for 150 years.  Our focus and commitment is all about our young people. About The Role

We have a passionate commitment to our young people, placing them at the centre of everything we do and as the homes Manager; you will be a key player in building and extending this commitment.

You will lead and support a team including Team Leaders, Secure Home Practitioners, Youth Justice Intervention Worker and Waking Night staff, all of whom are committed to transforming lives and creating positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree in Social Work/DipSW or other level 3 qualification relevant to working with children.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working with children/young people in a residential / secure setting.
  • Proven experience of effectively managing, motivating and supervising staff in a pressurised environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Regulations including Secure Care and Safeguarding Procedures.
  • A passion for achieving the best possible outcomes for young people.
  • Excellent leadership and staff management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound business awareness and a flair for promoting the service.
  • Flexibility, drive and resilience.

This role will involve some shift work plus some on call duties in the evening and at weekends.

  • A starting Salary of £34,406, rising to £39,216 after successful completion and to £44,566 on obtaining Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
