First Paragraph

St Christopher’s Fellowship are recruiting for a Get Into Work Coordinator to develop and set up a programme of activities to help their children and young people gain skills and develop confidence to help prepare them for adulthood and the workplace.  This is a new position made possible by the Winston Churchill Fellowship and a chance to learn what helps young people to succeed and to share this learning widely to improve outcomes for care leavers across the country.

About Us

Our vision is for every child and young person to be safe, loved and happy, to achieve their potential and have a bright future.

St Christopher's is a leading charity for children and young people and we are proud of our history for providing fostering, children's homes and a range of innovative leaving care services across the UK & Isle of Man.  We have a passionate commitment to our young people, placing them at the centre of everything we do.  We provide positive life experiences for young people who are unable to sustain a placement in their parental or foster home.

We are an equal opportunity employer and keen to develop an inclusive workforce were people feel they belong.  We hope to attract application from under- represented groups including people from different cultures, nationalities, socio economic backgrounds, ages, disabilities, religion, faith, sex, orientation, child care responsibilities and with gender diverse identities.

About the Role

As the St Christopher’s Get Into Work Coordinator you will lead on creating a programme of opportunities for young people to experience the workplace and develop skills and confidence to help them succeed on their chosen career pathway.

You will work with the rest of the Participation and Life Skills team to identify opportunities for young people to take place in work related activities within and outside of the organisation, create resources to support their learning and development, and systems to ensure that their learning is accredited and celebrated.

You will also be responsible for building positive relationships with the wider St Christopher’s team so that everyone who works with our children and young people are aware of the opportunities that are available and feel confident to encourage and support young people to get involved.

We believe that we can learn most about how to support young people best by listening to them about their experience and you will lead on capturing young people’s feedback and learning from it to improve the programme.
