Job Specification:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Residential Conveyancing Department for a Conveyancer to join the team at the Bakewell Office. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic candidate


Role Summary:

Candidates should have strong residential property experience ideally gained at a reputable law firm and be able to demonstrate the running of a varied caseload with the ability to meet financial targets year on year. Due to the office location, the nature of the work in the Bakewell area includes rural and agricultural property matters, therefore experience in this area or general commercial property experience would be an advantage.

Daily duties will involve handling a broad range of Residential Property matters.  Candidates will be commercially aware, have good client care skills, an eye for detail and knowledge of document and case management systems.  The candidate will be required to deliver excellent client service in dealing with the full range of residential property matters. 

Working in a fast paced yet friendly and supportive atmosphere, candidates will need to be a self-starter and want to ‘go the extra mile’ in assisting our clients to achieve their objectives. With this in mind, the successful candidate will be expected to business develop, building lasting relationships with agents and other key contacts. This role also includes managing a small team made up of a Legal Secretary and Legal Assistant.

Department and Team:

The Residential Conveyancing Department presently consists of 15 teams across 5 offices who deal with the full range residential property services predominantly to individual clients.

  • Providing excellent client service in line with our departmental standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Building effective relationships with clients and third parties, both internally and externally
  • Ability to contemporaneously progress matters in order to generate fees.
  • Deal with property matters from start to finish maximising fees through efficiency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
