Taylor&Emmet LLP is currently recruiting a Solicitor to join its Employment department. The successful candidate will be given a good quality and varied caseload of work and all necessary training and supervision. As such, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and progress their legal career within a friendly and collegiate team.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor. We would expect that a 2-3 years PQE Solicitor would have the right level of experience for this role, but candidates with relevant and good quality experience who otherwise meet the requirements of the role will be considered. The role will require the successful candidate to advise both employers and employees depending upon the overall workload of the department.
Daily duties involve advising and working with clients on the full range of employment law issues including drafting and reviewing contracts of employment, advising on settlement agreements, reviewing employee handbooks, advising clients by telephone and email and conducting tribunal claims.
Essential experience includes advising on settlement agreements and a track record of running cases and building solid client relationships. The successful candidate will be expected to network in Sheffield and the wider region and assist to develop new business for the firm, including speaking at seminars and training events from time to time.
Due to the nature of this work, the candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be expected to handle telephone calls from our employer helplines and initial client enquiries. The ability to meet clients face to face and advise is essential.
