Job Specification

A requirement has arisen within our Personal Injury Department for a Legal Assistant. The role of this department is to provide specialist, supportive legal advice to victims of personal Injury. The Solicitors and Litigation Executives diligently pursue cases on behalf of the victims who have suffered a personal injury. They pursue fair compensation for our clients, which may include loss of earnings, the cost of future care needs and any necessary aids and equipment to help make life easier.


Role Summary:

The successful candidate will provide general administrative, support and assistance to the department across a variety of tasks and responsibilities, adhering to strict quality and compliance guidelines. Duties may include providing an initial point of contact for new enquires that come into the department, sorting of medical records, typing of letters and documents, organising diaries, collating of information and research, liaising with experts and other third parties, actively supporting the Lawyers to progress client matters, contribution and support of the business development & marketing agenda in terms of social media and blog writing.

 This is a varied and hands on role that would suit individuals who work well under pressure and with multiple tasks of a differing nature, who enjoy organisation and the efficient self-management of one’s time.  A highly communicative and supportive individual would suit this role as it is of paramount importance that a thorough understanding of the department’s values, sensitive approach and a genuine care for the department’s clients is effortless and demonstrated at all times. 

Experience of a legal background is an advantage but not essential and on the job training will be provided.


Desirable Key Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience of working in a solicitor’s practice in a similar administration role.
  • Ability to use social media at an advanced level
  • Fast and accurate typing with a minimum speed of 40 wpm.
  • Ability to input information quickly and accurately
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office


Key Result Areas:

  • Providing an efficient and supportive service to the Personal Injury Department.
  • Ability to meet KPI’s including the management of client enquiries
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
