Head of Trading, Travel

Telegraph Travel are seeking a new Head of Trading, a fantastic high profile and senior role focused on driving on and offline revenue growth in line with budgeted targets, supported by travel-dedicated marketing, editorial, product & tech and analytics teams.

As Travel is a key strategic growth area this role will be responsible for performance-managing the travel trading teams and managing external travel partner partner relationships at a senior level, working closely and collaboratively with travel-dedicated marketing, editorial, product and business development teams teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance-manage a team of travel trading managers to maximise revenue opportunities
  • Set the direction for the marketing teams to support revenue plan
  • Forge a strong working relationship with the travel editorial team to support revenue plan
  • Explore new business opportunities working closely with the business development team to bring on board new revenue streams
  • Work closely with Finance business partner to forecast and track revenue performance
  • Provide weekly and monthly trading updates
  • Prioritise and track product and technical deliverables
  • Work closely with the travel advertising team to ensure joint campaign opportunities are realised
  • Represent Telegraph Travel at related external business events

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong online and offline travel experience
  • Excellent knowledge of online revenue optimisation
  • Track record of commercial success and retail sales growth
  • Good understanding of technical technical interfaces and platforms
  • Track record of motivating and developing a team to achieve great things
  • Experience of senior level sales relationships
  • Ability to forge productive relationships across a number of diverse internal partners
  • A passion for trading and driving revenue
  • Passion for innovation, process improvement, driving excellence and putting the customer first
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic business environment and a passion to deliver quality results
  • A clear and concise communicator who sets clear direction
