Online Marketing Manager

It’s hard to imagine that the first Entertainer store only opened back in 1981. Today The Entertainer is the U.K.’s Largest Independent Toy Retailer. In the UK we operate over 170 UK stores stretched across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the islands! As a business, we also own the Early Learning Centre and Totally Toys brands, both of which are represented through the UK and international partnerships including Matalan.   Outside of the UK we also manage a chain of toy stores in both Spain and Malta plus a growing number of Entertainer and Early Learning Centre franchise partnerships across the globe. We also own a brand toy supplier Addo Play – which supplies our stores and other retailers across the globe.

As Online Marketing Manager you will drive our multichannel acquisition and loyalty strategy across The Entertainer, Early Learning Centre, and Poly brands.

You’ll and be responsible for a multi-million-pound digital marketing budget across paid media, SEO, affiliates, social and CRM, so it’s vital that you’re comfortable with numbers and commercially focused.

As well as leading a small team of marketing executives you will also own our relationship with external marketing agencies and partners.


  • Create and deliver the online marketing strategy
  • Own the online marketing calendar and work closely with the wider web team to deliver it
  • Manage £3m annual online marketing budget to drive sales and improve ROI
  • Represent the online team at a senior level internally and externally
  • Manage relationship with our external marketing agencies to get best value from the money we spend with them
  • Line manage the online marketing team and provide support and coaching as necessary
  • Oversee performance on email, PPC, SEO, affiliates, display, social, content
  • Lead the CRM and loyalty strategy online and in-store
  • Direct and deliver online content and social media strategy


Skills & Experience

  1. Experienced marketer with extensive work experience within ecommerce, online marketing and CRM.
  2. Proven experience in driving profitable online sales and managing a budget.
  3. Analytical and able to interpret complex data and use it to drive business decisions.
  4. Confident negotiating with and managing internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Excellent leader with strong people management skills.
  6. Digital obsessive with a practical understanding of the latest online trends.
