Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Reporting into the Senior FP&A Analyst, this role will involve taking responsibility for some of the existing commercial reporting, and also helping to create and maintain new analysis for the business. The role is a balance of regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis, most of which is prepared for Directors or Heads of Department.

You will need to be commercially astute and ideally be familiar with investment appraisal. You will also have a passion for commerce and will enjoy working in a collaborative environment.




  • Assist with weekly reporting on the company’s retail trading performance, including:
    • Store segmentation reporting
    • Assist with the preparation of the Monday Trading Pack for the Directors
  • Complete property related analysis, including:
    • Update new store investment appraisal models
    • Help to create & update the pipeline for property appraisal and analysis
    • Help to create and update performance reviews following new store openings
  • Assist the Senior Analyst with the business’ forecast planning cycle including assisting in the preparation of the annual Budget, regular re-forecasting and the company’s 5 Year Strategic Plan
  • Prepare monthly Financial Reporting including
    • Analysing units and orders for the company’s online sales channel
    • Sales KPI analysis
  • Ad-hoc analysis of projects and promotions that are either planned or have been carried out

Skills & Experience

Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar finance role

  • To have studied and have a good understanding of investment appraisal techniques
  • Strong Excel skills. Ability to build models in Excel and use key Excel functionality
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with individuals and with a wide variety of organisations and audiences
  • Ability to analyse complex information and produce clear verbal and written reports
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise tasks, handle pressure, work to tight deadlines and take day to day decisions in the running of the finance department
