Export Planning Administrator

It's hard to imagine that the first Entertainer store only opened back in 1981. Today The Entertainer is the U.K.’s Largest Independent Toy Retailer. As a business, we own the Early Learning Centre, and Totally Toys brands as well as our own brand Addo Play. Outside of the UK we own the Poly Juguetes toy shops in Spain plus numerous Entertainer and Early Learning Centre international franchise partnerships.

Working in our busy Logistics Planning team based in our Head Office in Amersham, you will be responsible for managing the flow of export documentation for all international shipments.  You will be working closely with other departments including Buying, Quality Assurance, Finance and our International Operations and Merchandising teams.

You will be a commercially aware individual that has previous experience within a relevant export environment and has the ability to quickly gain a good understanding of systems and processes as well as strong communication skills.  You will need to combine your commercial knowledge and awareness of our International operations with a natural ability to build working relationships to deliver a first-class service to our partners.

Responsibilities                                                            

  • Responsible for producing necessary export documentation for all international shipments leaving our Distribution Centers.
  • Liaise with DC’s, shipping companies and international partners to ensure timely shipments departure.
  • Produce Certificate of Origin online.
  • Ensure all export documentation is produced in line with UK customs requirements.
  • Responsible for communicating any amendments or shipment delays to relevant partners and internal departments.
  • Update the TSS system for Northern Ireland orders in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with international partners/shippers.
  • Obtain proof of export documents for all shipments.
  • Keep all trackers up to date.
  • Contributing to develop business export processes.
  • Other ad hoc duties such as analysis and reporting.

 

Skills & Experience

  1. Previous experience working in an Export/Import department is preferable but not essential.
  2. Experience producing highly accurate documentation.
  3. Strong organisational skills and able to prioritise effectively.
  4. Ability to independently manage your workload as well as work closely with other members of the team.
  5. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel and Outlook.
  6. Intermediate level of Excel required.
  7. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  8. Ability to work well under pressure.
