Hours & Working Patterns: 12.5 hours per week: 12.15pm to 2.45pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £9.01 to £9.55 per hour (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

Lunch Time Assistant

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join a care team that are committed in providing the best quality of care and support to children and young people, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Working and sharing meals with students, your role as a Lunchtime Assistant will involve being an integral member of a multidisciplinary team helping to support and encourage students to develop and maintain social skills and relationships within the house community; helping them to achieve personal development targets. You will have a calm and patient disposition, highly effective communication skills and be unfazed by challenging behaviour.

The post-holder will be responsible for . . .

  • Supporting students during lunchtime, including eating lunch with the students
  • Supporting and encouraging students to develop and maintain social relationships within the house community
  • Supporting students in developing independence e.g. in self-help skills, personal hygiene, household tasks
  • Supporting and encouraging students to participate in recreational and leisure activities
  • Assisting students in preparation to return to afternoon lessons/activities
  • Contributing to students general well-being, health, safety and security
