Department: Residential Care (students 6 – 19 years), Residential Care (students 19 – 25 years)

Hours & Working Patterns: 40 hours per week / 52 Weeks

Salary: £9.86 - £10.50 per hour (£20,501 - 21,834 per annum) Dependent on qualifications & experience

Senior Support Worker

We are seeking a caring, patient and compassionate individual, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player who is able to establish and develop effective and productive relationships with students, colleagues and other professionals.  In return, we offer superior rates of pay and the opportunity for further career progression to Team Leader and Deputy/House Manager.

As a respected role model, you’ll have excellent time management skills; being able to coordinate and prioritise various demands in a rapidly changing environment.   You’ll be adept at managing your own CPD and show how you use this to improve the way you carry out your duties.  You will be required to possess a relevant  qualification to Level 3 (Ideally, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare).

 You be required to:

  • Assist the House and Deputy House Coordinator with the care and support of children/young adults with special needs within the house community
  • Take responsibility for leading a shift and ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated to meet the needs of the children/ young adults
  • Implement the Individual Education Plans by encouraging and supporting the development of social, educational and emotional abilities of the children/young adults
  • Work effectively within a team and support the House Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the house.
  • Be responsible for the safeguarding of students at all times, and report any concerns immediately according to policy.
  • Have the ability to work with initiative, resourcefulness and passion in order to support.
  • Are confident IT users and proficient in completing documentation.
