We have a vacancy for a Project Worker to deliver Thistle’s physical activity project, Thistle Outdoors.

Thistle Outdoors supports people of all ages living with long-term health conditions and disabilities across Edinburgh and the Lothians to live a life free of isolation and loneliness.

Using adapted bikes, Thistle Outdoors is focused on supporting people with health conditions and disabilities to participate in outdoor activities, physical activity and develop/sustain positive attitudes towards sustainable transport options whilst positively supporting improved health and wellbeing.

At Thistle, we believe that participation in outdoor and physical activities should be accessible to all, and the project uses cycling as a tool to create inclusivity and introduce people to sustainable travel options. In the process, the successful candidate will ensure that for the people we support, a health crisis does not become a life crisis.

The project is primarily delivered in Craigmillar and Saughton Park, with office-based working at Thistle’s award-winning Centre of Wellbeing building in Craigmillar.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic team player, who has a willingness to learn and to support others participate in physical activities.
