Location: Home-Based (with some travel to office)

Role Purpose

The bid manager is responsible for assembling and managing the bid, the process and stakeholders, to prepare winning bids and maximise sales. 

Using the bid process, the bid manager will direct the bid ensuring complete team adherence to templates, tools and governance gates, having full responsibility for the resulting bid response, through to signature of the contract.

You will be an experienced bid manager, looking for your next challenge to step into a senior bid management role.

The role requires an individual who is organised, analytical, can work to tight deadlines and not shy to push their virtual team.

The successful candidate will ensure the internal bid process is followed and win planning forms a key part of the bid approach.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Qualify and approve new bid opportunities
  • Manage bids to ensure that high-quality, innovative, winning bids are submitted and delivered on time.
  • Provide strategic guidance on best practice
  • Drive regular progress meetings with other departments such as sales, solution architecture, commercial and legal ensuring the team adhere to bid timelines.
  • Work in conjunction with commercial managers to support on commercial solutions
  • Chair review meetings to enable the business to improve the quality and efficiency of future proposals
  • Ensure bids are put through the correct business process from opportunity identification through to handover to operations.
  • Understand the contractual position of our top 200 customers and ensure there are bid plans in place for all contract renewals.
  • Coordinate all necessary sales opportunities through the governance gateways.
  • Maintain the bid library and ensure the quality of bids executed by guiding and supporting the wider sales team.
  • Maintain the profile of Digital Space on tender frameworks and portals ensuring opportunities are communicated to the new business team.
  • Assume and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined above, but which are logically inherent to the position.
