About this role:

The newly formed Totally Urgent Care Division, following the merger of Vocare and Greenbrook, is a leading provider of national urgent care services. We are looking for an Area Medical Director who will, in association work with the Regional Medical Director to provide strong professional medical leadership for the services within the area of Totally's Urgent Care Division (UCD).

The post holder will work 24 hours per week managerial role - out of hours working and on-call will be required.

The Area Medical Director will be responsible for the primary care led urgent healthcare services within the area, working closely with the Area Director and Area Clinical Director. The Medical Director will play a key role in the delivery of the Urgent Care Division’s strategy, leading high quality and performing services, fostering effective relationships with senior stakeholders, and developing new and innovative services and pathways that benefit local patients.

The division delivers highly successful services within 111, Clinical Assessment Services (CAS), GP Out of Hours (GPOOH) and Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) across a national footprint. You would join our growing team at a truly exciting time with expanding services and a new fit for purpose structure.

Essential Requirements:

The successful applicant will demonstrate a desire to improve outcomes and patient experience within services and an ability to engage with all partners within the health economy. The role requires an ability to work within highly regulated environments, delivering against multiple performance targets, whilst maintaining the support and engagement of the MDT.

The successful candidate will be an established GP with considerable experience of primary care, out of hours or urgent care work, possess current and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and be listed on the performers list in England.
