Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Stafford House)

Totally Urgent Care Division are delighted to announce that they have been awarded the Staffordshire GP OOHs contract for at least the next five years. We will be delivering a unique patient experience for the population of Staffordshire to provide a high quality and safe service for all urgent care needs. To ensure seamless patient centred care we are now able to offer a variety of exciting opportunities across Staffordshire within bases at Stoke on Trent, Leek, Stafford, Cannock, Tamworth and Burton.

If you are an experienced or newly qualified ANP / ACP who is passionate about patient centred care, wanting to enhance your primary care clinical skills and develop your leadership potential then we are the urgent care provider of choice for you!

About the role...

 

As an ANP / ACP you will be responsible for the assessment of health and clinical needs of our patients, undertaking consultations as an autonomous practitioner, you'll use your advanced clinical practice skills, and own clinical judgement to diagnose, treat, refer or discharge patients. The role will include both telephone triage and face to face consultations supported by a variable rota covering weekday evenings/night and all day over weekends and bank holidays.

Your day to day...

 

  • Carry out consultations with patients - taking a comprehensive patient history; physical examinations and use of your expert knowledge and clinical judgement to identify potential diagnosis,
  • Refer patients for investigations when necessary/appropriate,
  • Make a final diagnosis,
  • Decide on and carry out treatment, including the prescribing of medicine or referring to primary or secondary care specialist services within local agreed pathways and protocols as appropriate,
  • Ensure all treatment and care provided are based on best practice/evidence-based care.
  • Provide clinical advice and mentorship to junior clinical staff

 

Qualifications, Experience & Training...

 

  • Registered Nurse – First Level Nurse or other healthcare professional qualification leading to registration,
  • Evidence of degree level study or equivalent
  • Degree in advanced practice or equivalent
  • Evidence of completion of study in minor illness
  • Independent non-medical prescriber.
  • Evidence of study in minor injury or willingness to develop these skills
  • Evidence of completion of study in paediatric minor illness or willingness to develop these skills
  • Evidence of study in paediatric minor injury or willingness to develop these skills
