About The Role                                   CIQHP

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented early career software professional with an innovative mind and a desire to move into a product focused role. Our traffic and transport software products are already established within major cities across the globe, and have been driving efficiencies, reducing journey times and increasing safety on the roads for many years. Our solutions are now being evolved and reimagined to meet the needs of future mobility and to become embedded in the fabric of connected and automated vehicles.

This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic developer with a desire to cultivate a career as a Product Owner – working closely with the Product and Development teams to ensure our products meet the needs of the market and of our customers.  Given the breadth of technical and product based knowledge to perform in the role there will be a high degree of learning from the outset.

Other duties will include:

  • Supporting the definition of the product vision, road-map and growth opportunities in partnership with the Product Manager
  • Assessing value, developing cases, and prioritizing and write user stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy and road map
  • Supporting the planning and prioritising of the product feature backlog for the product
  • Ensuring that the team always has an adequate amount of refined tasks to undertake within a sprint
  • Facilitating backlog refinement meetings and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Supporting the planning of product release plans and expectation setting for delivery of new features
  • Researching and analysing the market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
  • Following competitors and the industry
  • Keeping abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

Skills & Experience

  • Two years’ experience in Product Owner / Business Analyst functions
  • Experience in working with Product team and Agile Development teams
  • Professional training / certifications in Product Management / Product Owner functions
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Programming experience in any modern language is desirable
  • Ability to work as part of an Agile software development team
  • Able to independently undertake detailed research and analysis and to produce high quality technical documents and reports
  • Adaptability and drive to see tasks through to completion
  • A willingness to learn - both directed and self-motivated.

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have a degree with a significant numerical component, such as maths, physics, engineering or computer science.
  • A PhD or MSc level qualification in a related area would be desirable.
