Service Overview

Mickley Hall is a wheelchair accessible nursing home in Sheffield supporting 39 adults who have varying needs as a result of physical and long-term neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida & hydrocephalus, and stroke.

The full-time support we provide is flexible and designed to help build skills, inspire confidence and encourage people to live more independently. We work directly with each individual to develop a personalised support programme based on their needs, wishes and aspirations. This includes personal care, health & wellbeing programmes, physiotherapy, community engagement, enablement, volunteering & activities and respite and transition services.

What is the role

We are looking for a Clinical Lead Nurse with a passion for enhancing the quality of the lives of the people we support whilst providing the highest standards of nursing, clinical and personal support and promoting independence and choice. You will directly lead and supervise a team of nurses and support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient management of the shift, assessing, prioritising, planning, and monitoring the work activities of the team. 

  • You will need to be a registered nurse with a valid NMC Pin.
  • To manage the service in the absence of the Registered Service Manager
  • To support the Registered Service Manager to manage all aspects of the service including staff learning and development and ensuring the team is compliant with mandatory and statutory training.
  • To provide professional clinical and managerial support to all members of the team.
  • To ensure all members of the nurse’s team receive regular clinical supervision and provide management supervision as required.
  • To create duty rota and running the shift (Delegate team responsibilities, Manage breaks)
  • To liaising with other health care professionals (GP, District nurse, podiatrist, etc
  • To work closely with the Registered Service Manager in identifying and delivering improvements to both the environment and processes in place.
  • To write and audit care plans and risk assessments
  • To order medication and undertake medication audits.
  • To be part of the management on call rota as required
