Are you an experienced Workshop Manager looking for the next challenge?

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the country’s leading fire and rescue services; to become part of a team where everyone plays their part in making West Yorkshire Safer.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage the West Yorkshire Fire Service vehicle repair facility at the Headquarters site in Birkenshaw, Bradford, ensuring the safety and reliability of firefighting vehicles and equipment through an extensive program of preventative maintenance and reactive repair.

You will have proven experience managing a commercial or public sector workshop, be flexible and adaptable and possess an extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair. You will be qualified to at least C&G level 3 in vehicle repair or ONC certificate in mechanical engineering with additional experience in managing teams in a workshop environment.

You will be committed to the highest standards of vehicle engineering and be able to demonstrate a passion for delivering excellence and efficiency, with the ability to be an effective leader of a team of experienced, highly skilled technicians.

Joining a first-rate organisation, you will have the job satisfaction of knowing each day that you are contributing to the success of one of just six metropolitan fire and rescue services in the UK, supporting over 950 firefighters who work round the clock to help people and save lives. The vehicles and equipment you would provide are a vital element in this life saving work.

We offer an excellent package, including Local Government Pension Scheme, free parking, 37-hour flexible working week, an employee assistance programme, training and development, sports and social clubs with free use of gym.

We are a caring organisation, promote an environment of inclusivity and learning and welcome people from all walks of life, actively promoting our core values such as integrity and teamwork.

If you can meet this challenge, we want to hear from you!
