On-Call Watch Manager - Mirfield (Internal only)

Following the recent Station Manager process, an opportunity has arisen for a Watch Manager (WM) to work at Mirfield Fire Station on the On-Call Duty System (RDS).

 

Applications are welcome from existing Wholetime/ On-Call Watch Managers and competent Crew Managers as a promotion opportunity.

Applicants without the relevant IFE qualifications will be eligible to apply, however they will remain in development until the relevant qualifications are achieved (as per the Crew Manager to Area Manager promotion process).

 

Eligibility

 

Members of staff applying must be:

 

  • A competent Watch Manager or Crew Manager
  • For promotion including temporary - been identified as showing potential for promotion as part their Annual Review (AR) with a supporting statement from their Line Manager (within the talent matrix of the AR).
  • For sideways moves - been identified as preforming well in their current role as part their Annual Review (AR) with a supporting statement from their Line Manager (within the talent matrix of the AR)
  • Have no current disciplinary awards throughout the process
  • Live within a 1mile radius or a 5-minute response time to the On-Call station
  • Be able to provide a minimum of 60 hours cover per week (minimum 40 premium hours per week)
  • Have a full current driving licence

 

The selection process will comprise of:

 

  • Stage 1 – Review PDR
  • Stage 2 - Completion of an online application form and subsequent shortlisting.
  • Stage 3 – Presentation & Interview.
