ICT Infrastructure Engineer - Servers & Storage

Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer specialising in server and storage technology?  

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the country’s leading fire and rescue Services; to become part of a team where everyone plays their part in making West Yorkshire Safer.  

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage, maintain and support the ICT infrastructure and play a key role in how it is shaped and developed in the future in line with its strategy for ICT.  

You will have proven experience in supporting and maintaining, documenting, and delivering server and storage solutions in a complex multi-site organisation with specific knowledge of VMware server, VDI desktops, Windows and Linux server, storage systems and Microsoft 365 and Azure. You will hold an appropriate professional technical qualification such as VMware or Microsoft Server technologies.  

You will deliver positive ICT support activities in line with expected customer experience ensuring consistent standards are maintained. You will also be required to work as part of a standby rota for 24/7 critical cover 1 week in every 4. This will attract a 7.5% salary enhancement and time in lieu or payment for standby hours worked.

We offer flexible working arrangements. Whilst you will be required to work from our offices for parts of your initial training, after this you'll work both in the office and from home/remotely as part of our 'hybrid' working model. Therefore, applicants must also have a car available for work purposes with valid business insurance and a reliable home internet connection.  

The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Check and the possession of current valid driving licence.
