Area Housing Manager

We’re looking for an Area Housing Manager to join our team in Peterborough.
About the role and person:
- 35 hours per week
- Permanent
As an Area Housing Manager, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the housing service in your area. You’ll lead an area team of Housing Partners and support them to achieve our goal of delivering customer excellence, ensuring customers feel safe in their homes and neighbourhoods, signposting them to services that can help to maximise their income, and helping them to sustain their tenancies.
You’ll have opportunities to work with new customers as well as established customers. The East is a key region for Accent from a development perspective, we grow by approximately 350 new homes per year bringing opportunities to work closely with the Development team and support the Head of Housing to input into planning and design, flagging any potential issues.
As Area Housing Manager, you’ll need to stay up to date with legislative changes to ensure that regulatory and Accent standards are upheld in accordance with our obligations, policies and procedures. This role will achieve success by meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction and KPI targets and embedding an environment that fosters a culture of continuous performance improvement.

Salary
The spot salary for this post is £48,451 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.
This post will also receive a car allowance of £1,250 per annum.

What skills/behaviours do you need to be an Area Housing Manager?
- Previous experience of managing a high performing housing management service within a social housing context and understanding of the various workstreams relevant to tenancy and neighbourhood management.
- Demonstrable strong leadership qualities that can motivate teams and individuals to achieve KPIs.
- Previous experience of communicating with customers and a range of external partners including with statutory and third sector organisations etc. Ability to effectively manage financial and human resources
- Manage, support and motivate the area housing team to meet its core objectives ensuring the management of their respective budgets.
- Strong working knowledge of Housing Legislation and regulatory reforms with a commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
- An advanced level of working with Microsoft office applications and other relevant software e.g., housing management systems
- Level 5 in a relevant subject e.g., CIH or be willing to work towards achieving this.
Interviews
First stage interviews will take place on Thursday 28th November via Teams.
Second stage interviews will take place on Friday 6th December in person at our Peterborough office.
Location
The successful candidate will be required to live within a commutable distance to Peterborough as you’ll be in the office twice a week. Additional travel across the region is required to meet business needs.
We’re a keen promoter of agile working and encourage the use of working from home, as long as we meet our customer’s needs.
We’ll provide you with the equipment and software that you’ll need for the purpose of your role however it will be your responsibility to have an appropriate space to work from as well as a suitable broadband connection/provider.
Should you wish to work occasionally from any of our regional offices, you may do so on a hot desk basis which will need to be arranged via our online booking system
