Contract: 12 months fixed term contract, working 35 hours per week

Location: Manchester, Birmingham or Bristol (The role will be based at one of the listed office bases; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members if the team, normally 1-2 days a week)
About us: Arts Council England has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled candidate to join our inclusive and welcoming team as an Officer in the Museums and Cultural Property team. This fixed term full-time role can be based in any of the office locations listed, offers a salary of £32,163 and a great benefits package.
The Museums and Cultural Property team delivers a range of national responsibilities that support the strategic development of museums and works with the cultural sector in securing, sustaining, preserving, advocating for and enabling access to collections in support of Arts Council’s Strategy Let’s Create!.
About the Role: The role is part of a distributed team working across a varied range of activities. Your primary role will be progressing Acceptance in Lieu, cultural gifts and conditional exemption casework.
This might involve being on site, checking inventories, liaising with stakeholders and completing the paperwork necessary for a successful case. You will also contribute to and collaborate on process improvements, information management, reporting and other projects across the Museums and Cultural Property team.
To apply for this role, you will need experience of working in a team to deliver projects and programmes and have the ability to work confidently and discretely with key stakeholders across Arts Council, within the cultural sector and from diverse backgrounds.
You might have experience in a historic house environment, or as a curator, archivist or museum registrar. Or you could bring wider transferrable skills.
You will also possess:
- A proactive and collaborative problem- solving ethos and, user focussed approach.
- A well-developed ability to meet deadlines, maintaining confidentially and attention to detail.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
