The role will be predominantly based at our London office, with occasional travel to our Brighton and Cambridge offices. Although we encourage a hybrid work approach and support remote working combined with regular in-person contact days with other team members, this specific role, due to its nature, will mostly require in-person work, with up to one day of remote work per week.

Arts Council England (ACE) is the national development agency for creativity and culture. ACE is an arm's length non-departmental public body of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. It is also a registered charity. Our 2023-26 Investment Programme will benefit 990 organisations bringing creativity and culture to villages, towns and cities across the country. We have 9 strategically placed offices in England to ensure we have a meaningful regional presence from which we work with the sector and local stakeholders. This role sits within the Estates and Facilities Team – part of Finance and Corporate Services (Finance, IT, HR, and Insight) and our aim is to:

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join our Facilities Team based at our London office. You will support the Senior Facilities Manager in playing a key role in providing an efficient, courteous, and professional service to staff and visitors. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from ensuring high health and safety standards to maintaining a clean and functional office environment. Some of the main duties include conducting staff inductions and office tours, raising purchase orders to suppliers, handling contract administration, and monitoring cleaning standards. This role may also involve maintenance and practical work to address any facility issues.

Another key area is the monitoring and reporting of planned and reactive maintenance and generally contributing to maintaining a healthy and safe environment for staff and visitors.

Applicants should have experience of working in a facilities management environment or in a similar customer-facing role, be approachable and reliable with a "can-do" attitude, possess strong organisational and planning skills, and demonstrate a proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams, along with the ability to use a range of IT systems.

The ability to be able to prioritise and respond to changing priorities whilst working effectively within a small team as well as independently is essential as is the ability to communicate effectively at all levels face to face and in writing. This role requires the ability to take initiative and proactive steps to address issues and enhance the working environment.

Full training will be given and there will be opportunities to participate in other relevant training.  The position is full time - 35 hours per week to be worked between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday, some travel to other offices may be required occasionally.
